Sometimes the mind understands what is happening, yet the body continues to react, through tension, overwhelm, or a nervous system that never seems fully at rest.
Therapy can provide a space to explore these patterns carefully and honestly.
I offer in-person and online counselling and breathwork therapy that supports people to understand their inner world more deeply, regulate the nervous system, and develop a more grounded relationship with themselves and others.
Sessions are available online to clients throughout New Zealand and internationally.

While conversation and insight are valuable, emotional patterns are not held only in the mind. They are also held in the body and nervous system.

Learning to recognise how the body responds to stress, anxiety and trauma, and developing the capacity to regulate those responses.
Breathwork practices
Simple but powerful breathing techniques that support emotional regulation, deepen awareness, and help shift long-held patterns in the body.
This integrated approach allows therapy to move beyond intellectual understanding toward deeper emotional and physiological change.
Professional Background
From Criminal Barrister to Trauma-Informed Therapist
Before training as a therapist, I spent many years working as a criminal barrister.
That work brought me into close contact with the realities of human suffering — trauma, addiction, violence, and the complex circumstances that often sit behind people’s actions.
Over time it became clear that many of the struggles I saw in the legal system were not simply legal problems, but deeply human ones rooted in unresolved emotional pain and nervous system dysregulation.
This realisation led me to retrain in psychotherapy and counselling, where I began working directly with individuals navigating anxiety, trauma, relationship difficulties and periods of profound life transition.
Alongside formal therapeutic training, I have spent more than fifteen years travelling regularly to India, studying contemplative practices, breathwork and meditation with respected teachers and spiritual traditions. These experiences have profoundly influenced the way I understand the relationship between mind, body and consciousness.
Today my work brings these strands together through trauma-informed counselling that integrates psychological understanding with somatic awareness and breathwork practices.

Online Counselling
Online therapy allows people to access support from wherever they are located.
Sessions take place via secure video call and offer the same depth of conversation and therapeutic work as in-person sessions.
Many clients find that speaking from the familiarity of their own environment allows them to relax more fully and engage more honestly with the process.

Breathwork & Nervous System Regulation
Breathing patterns are closely connected to emotional states and nervous system activity.
When we live under prolonged stress or carry unresolved trauma, breathing often becomes shallow, restricted, or dysregulated without us realising it.
Breathwork practices can gently restore more natural breathing patterns while supporting emotional regulation and deeper awareness of internal states.
Within therapy sessions, breathwork may be used as a practical tool to help clients reconnect with their bodies and develop greater resilience in the face of stress and emotional challenge.
A Space for Honest Exploration
Therapy is not about fixing a broken person.
It is about creating a space where experience can be explored honestly — without judgement or pressure to perform.
In that space people often begin to see their patterns more clearly, soften the harsh ways they relate to themselves, and gradually discover new ways of responding to life.
